Watch History Come Alive with This Historic Reenactment

Visit the George Ranch Historical Park for an exciting re-creation of one of Texas’ most historic events, the Runaway Scrape. This fascinating and educational reenactment takes audiences back in time to the spring of 1836, when thousands of Texians fled from their homes as Santa Anna’s army began marching toward San Jacinto.

Taking place at the historic 1830s Jones Stock Farm, you’re invited to witness the history of Texas in action as Texians struggle to retreat from the advancing Mexican forces. After the battles, step forward 30 years to participate in a militia drill and learn about the mock battles the Ryon children held for visitors in the 1860s. End your visit with a stop at the 1930s George Home Yard where you can help excavate the past with an archeology dig and learning about some of the discoveries found on the George Ranch historic site by previous generations! It’s sure to be a fun-filled day of thrilling, educational activities, so mark your calendar for this special reenactment at the George Ranch Historical Park!
