Cody Johnson gained national attention when Cowboy Like Me landed on the Top 10 Billboard Chart in 2014. His smoky baritone and ultra-Southern enunciations give him a voice as uniquely identifiable as country kingpins Jason Aldean or Tim McGraw. The rising country star has held his own against major country artists by selling out venues across the nation.
Johnson wears his musical influences on his sleeve – referencing George Strait in “When Cowboys Were King,” Alan Jackson and Tim McGraw in “Y’all People,” and Johnny Cash, Jackson Browne, and Bruce Springsteen in “Monday Morning Merle.”
With the release of his high-anticipated album, Gotta Be Me, Johnson won fans over with his Texas-pride swagger and true country grit attitude. Johnson’s new album, Ain’t Nothin’ to It, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart in January. This year, Johnson collaborated with Brooks & Dunn on a new version of their hit song "Red Dirt Road" which appears on their album Reboot.
