Performances, Workshops, and Eats: The TC Energy Theater District Open House Will Not Disappoint

Open the stage curtains and kick off the fall performing arts season with the TC Energy Theater District Open House on August 25th at 12 p.m. Staged with fun for the whole family, this annual free event offers everything from ballet classes for beginners to lessons in elaborate stage makeup techniques.

Open House features free behind-the-scenes experiences, performance previews and interactive activities, as well as special ticket, and subscription, offers. Sing along to show tunes with Broadway at the Hobby Center, experience creative movement classes with Houston Ballet, and don’t miss the free concert from the Houston Symphony at 4 pm!

Enjoy lunch and snacks from local food trucks and live performances by High School for the Performing and Visual Arts music ensembles, percussion workshops by Nameless Sound, makeup and costume demonstrations by Magpies & Peacocks, a unique visual art project by artist Joan Dodd, and interactive art experiences by Young Audiences of Houston!

This is also the largest day of discounted sales for individual and season tickets from Houston’s eight world-renowned performing arts organizations, making it a can’t miss event for theater enthusiasts. Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in Houston’s performing arts scene!
