Excitement Awaits at Discovery Green During a Concert for the French Cultures Festival

The Cultural Service of the French Embassy in Houston presents the 2020 French Cultures Festival, taking place throughout the month of March in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. The event aims to celebrate the French language through cultural and educational events throughout the three states.

The festival will be officially launched during the 8th annual kick-off concert, showcasing a bouncing mix of French, indie & blues, rock, folk, pop, and soul sounds with three bands: CharlElie Couture (France), Ariane Roy (Québec), and Vodi (Houston, TX). In addition to the live music performances, concert attendees will have the opportunity to taste an exclusive selection of gourmet dishes from France and francophone countries (crêpes, quiches, pastries, and other delicacies). Don’t miss all of this and much more on Friday, March 6th starting at 6:00 p.m.!

The Cultural Services is a division of the French Embassy in the United States. The Cultural Services were first imagined in the 1930s by Paul Claudel. In 1945 General de Gaulle appointed Claude Lévi-Strauss as the first Cultural Counselor, with the mission of providing Americans (individuals and organizations) with access and resources to engage with French culture and promote it in their own communities.

French Cultures Festival will be held at Discovery Green this Friday, March 6th. Since it opened in April 2008, Discovery Green has attracted more than 1.5 million people to the park annually. Most visitors come to enjoy our more than 600 free events, including the French Cultures Festival, with the beautiful downtown Houston skyline in the background.
